Nela Menéndez is a passionate and accomplished dancer originally from Mendoza, Argentina, now based in Minnesota. Her journey in dance began at the young age of 8, exploring ballet, folklore, and traditional Argentinian rhythms. At 13, she discovered the vibrant world of Salsa, igniting a lifelong love for dance. By 18, Bachata had become her focus, solidifying her dedication to Latin dance styles.

At Nela Dance Academy, Nela offers transformative experiences through wedding and quinceañera choreography, corporate dance programs that inspire team connection, and vibrant group classes at her new location in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also partners with various organizations to bring dance to diverse audiences and foster community engagement.

Driven by her mission to inspire confidence and connection through the art of dance, Nela helps students discover their own rhythm and joy. Her exceptional talent and commitment have led her to compete in numerous prestigious dance competitions across Argentina and the U.S., earning multiple first- and second-place awards. She has trained with world champion dancers and showcased her skills at renowned Salsa and Bachata congresses.

In addition to her extensive dance career, Nela has taught and performed at universities across the U.S., sharing her expertise with diverse audiences in academic settings. She co-founded NV Entertainment, which successfully elevated Latin dance culture in Minnesota. During its tenure, she organized vibrant Latin dance socials and played a pivotal role in creating the Hispanic Heritage Festival 2024, a landmark event that brought together world champion dancers and celebrated Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and more. While NV Entertainment has completed its mission, its impact continues to inspire the local dance community.

Nela’s work is further enriched by her collaborations with esteemed artists and organizations, as well as her dedication to community outreach. Her ability to connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds makes her a dynamic force in the international dance community, both on stage and behind the scenes. Nela’s passion for dance, cultural authenticity, and commitment to uplifting others continues to make her a beacon of inspiration in the global dance world.
